The Surveillance Centre was set up in May 2000 with the aim of collecting and analysing data on A&E department attendance in the West Midlands region.

This website provides an overview of the centre, providing information such as the type of data held, the types of research being undertaken and publications written. The site also provides information about the epidemiology of A&E attendance in the West Midlands.

  • Research Paper: Alcohol and Violence Related Emergency Department Attendances in Birmingham Before and After the Extension of Alcohol Licensing Hours.  Submitted for publication
  • Monograph Report: Variation in Emergency Department Use at Neighbourhood Level in the Black Country (working title)
