The Institute delivers both outstanding teaching for postgraduates and health professionals in addition to conducting leading research in a variety of occupational and environmental disciplines.
Research Areas
The Institute is a World Health Organisation collaborating centre and has links with scientists in Norway, Finland, United States, Taiwan, China, Chile and Brazil amongst others.
Teaching
Teaching activities include post-graduate academic programmes, undergraduate medical students short professional courses and the Annual Workshop. The Institute runs an internationally renowned full and a part-time graduate course leading to MSc in Occupational Health.

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS
This is the first time that the College has awarded an ad eundem Fellowship to a Respiratory Physician and is a great honour. The citation stated that this was for his work on the environment and respiratory disease. He was awarded his fellowship along with the President of the Royal College of Physicians of London, Professor Ian Gilmore.
